Chief Mujimanzovu of the Kaonde speaking people of Solwezi District has appealed to President Michael Sata to pardon the nurses who have been fired for taking part in an illegal strike.

Chief Mujimanzovu has told QFM News that the nurses were wrong not to have considered the patients%u2019 lives but government should consider rescinding its decision to fire the striking nurses.

Chief Mujimanzovu says this is because the dismissed nurses have families to look after and that government should consider on this grounds to reinstate them.

Chief Mujimanzovu says there is also need for government and the Zambia Union of Nurses (ZUNO) to sit down and look at the plight of the dismissed nurses.

He says the decision by government will only aggravate the already worsened situation where nurses will now be required to attend to more patients.
