Zesco United’s all-round poor form continued after losing 1-0 on Saturday to Nchanga Rangers in the Barclays cup semifinals.

Their defeat at Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe comes on the back of a stuttering run of results in the MTN/FAZ Super Division for the second placed side who currently trail leaders Nkana by seven points on the table.

Zesco have seemingly lost steam despite their status on the log and Saturday’s Barclays Cup exit at Arthur Davies in Kitwe could hit their push for a top two finish with four games left.

Striker Winston Kalengo had grea chances in both halves to seal the win for Zesco but found Nchanga goalkeeper Toaster Nsambata in inspired form.

A Bwalya Kasonde strike from halfway inside Zesco half of the pitch sailed past Jacob Banda to ensure Nchanga’s passage to the November 23 finals in Lusaka.

Nchanga will face Red Arrows in the final after they beat Green Buffaloes 2-0 in the late kickoff at Arthur Davies on Saturday.

Lubinda Mundia put Arrows ahead in the 38th minute before Bruce Musakanya completed a good day at the office for Arrows in the 47th minute.

This will be the Arrows and Nchanga’s first ever appearance in the final after tumbling at the semifinals and quarterfinals in 2011 and 2010 respectively.
