The National Aids Council (NAC) has appealed to the ministry of health to be consistent in procuring Anti retro viral therapy and tuberculosis drugs.
National Aids Council Director General, Dr. Clement Chellah has told Qfm in an interview that in as much as the shortage of ARVs is stabilizing; there is need for government to ensure that there is never a shortage of the life saving drugs.
Dr. Chellah notes that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Community Development, Mother and Child health have a process where they anticipate the availability of the drugs.
He explains that the process is always held once a year, adding that they should always use this platform to come with strategies that will not lead to shortage of the life saving drugs.
Mr. Chela has since encouraged the medical stores and the ministry of health to ensure that there is always enough stock of drugs and distribute them to all the clinics in time.
