The Patriotic Front (PF) in Northern Province has called on opposition political parties to offer constructive criticism to the ruling party in order to enhance development in the country.

Commenting on the recent PF victory in the Fierra Parliamentary by-election, PF Provincial Secretary Evarist Chela says the growth of the country’s democracy lies in political parties engaging in constructive dialogue.

Mr. Chela said opposition parties should offer checks and balances to the government as a way of fostering development in the country.

He noted that the PF government was a listening Government and is ready to work with all stakeholders developing the nation.

Mr. Chela congratulated the newly elected Fierra Member of Parliament Patrick Ngoma and PF leadership in Lusaka Province for working hard in scooping the parliamentary seat.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chela has described claims by Lupososhi independent Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka to dislodge the PF in the 2016 general election as a political joke.

Mr. Chela said Mr. Mucheleka has no capacity to challenge President Michael Sata in the 2016 presidential election.

He has since advised Mr. Mucheleka to sort out his problems with electorates and the traditional rulers in his constituency before issuing unnecessary attacks on PF Government.

Efforts to get a comment from Lupososhi Member of Parliament Patrick Mucheleka failed at press time.
