The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has announced that the ballot papers for Feira parliamentary by elections slated for June 20, 2013 will arrive in the country on 14th June.

Commission Spokesperson Chris Akufana said the ballot papers will arrive at 14:30 hours at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport aboard Emirates plane.

Mr. Akufuna told ZANIS in Lusaka today that the Commission was currently informing political parties to witness the arrival of the ballot papers adding that the media were also invited to witness the event.

He said upon arrival, the ballot papers will be taken to the Commission headquarters where the verification process will be done.

The Feira seat fell vacant after Member of Parliament Patrick Ngoma resigned from the opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) in March this year to join the ruling Patriotic Front (PF).

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF), MMD, United Party for National Development (UPND), National Restoration Party (NAREP), United National Independence Party (UNIP) and an independent candidate are taking part in the by elections.
