—Defence Deputy Minister Colonel Joseph Lungu says Zambia National Service will play a pivotal role in the upgrading of major roads in the newly established Southern provincial capital.
And Colonel Lungu has praised service men and women for responding positively to establish themselves and for shifting from the former provincial capital Livingstone to Choma.
The Deputy Minister said this when he paid a courtesy call on Southern province Permanent Secretary Bernard Namachila today.
Colonel Lungu said government is committed to equip Zambia National Service with state of the art machinery to assist in the up grading of roads not only in Choma but countrywide.
Colonel Lungu is in Choma to check on the state of the construction machinery of Zambia National Service (ZNS).
And Southern province Permanent Secretary Bernard Namachila commended government for making positive strides towards developing Choma since it was declared as a provincial capital of Southern province.
Mr Namachila said once the feeder roads are worked on in the city, this will facilitate in the easy transportation of crop yields.
