Public service workers warned against failing President Sata

Choma, May 30, 2013, ZANIS – SOUTHERN Province Permanent Secretary Bernard Namachila says government will not allow a situation where civil servants deliberately fail President Michael Sata in his quest to develop the province.

And speaking earlier, southern province chief planner, Linda Siwale, said the two days meeting will be updated with developmental achievements in the province.

Mr Namachila says President Sata has made major pronouncements about the Patriotic Front (PF)’s developmental agenda for the southern province and that civil servants should not be a stumbling block.

ZANIS reports that the Permanent Secretary said this at Riverside lodge in Choma today when he opened the Provincial Development Coordinating Committee (PDCC) meeting.

Mr. Namachila who is the PDCC chairperson advised civil servants to avoid engaging in corrupt practices, as the PF government is highly intolerant to corruption.

He says civil servants should avoid seeking gratification from members of the public in order to perform or provide services to them.

Mr. Namachila reminded heads of government departments that failure to perform duties when one is being paid government funds is tantamount a serious misconduct.

He has challenged the departmental heads to toll the PF government developmental agenda because it is the party currently in power.

And speaking earlier, southern province chief planner, Linda Siwale, said the two days meeting will be updated with developmental achievements in the province.

Mrs.  Siwale said during the meeting, district commissioners are expected to present detailed reports on developmental achievements in their respective districts.
