-Political Activist Bonny Tembo says Alliance for Better Zambia (ABZ) leader Frank Bwalya is not a presidential material and he is just wasting time for the Zambian people.

And Mr Tembo has advised outspoken Catholic Priest Father to torn down his language because his disparaging remarks against President Michael Sata’s administration and the entire PF party officials are in bad taste.

Mr Tembo regretted that the prominent clergyman has abandoned the church in preference to participating in politics instead of bringing the lost sheep to Christ.

He was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today.

Mr Tembo, who is former Anti-Voter Apathy Project Executive Director, said it was too early for fr. Bwalya to vie for presidency in the country instead of climbing through the ranks in the political arena.

“It is unfortunate that fr. Bwalya could abandon the pulpit in preference for politics when there are millions of people wanting to know God. My advice to him is to be level headed and torn down his language especially against the Head of State because his sentiments are tantamount to a felony offense,” Mr Tembo said.

He added that fr. Bwalya, a former Get Involved Zambia Executive Director, was day dreaming when he says he wants to become president of this country when he has no popularity.

He lashed out at fr. Bwaya and told him to test the strength of ABZ in the forthcoming series of by elections that will be held across the country if at all he will get a single vote from the Zambian people.

Recently, fr Bwalya resigned as Chairman on the ZESCO Board of Directors and announced the formation of ABZ with an appeal to the Zambian people to join his party.

Since stepping down, the Catholic Clergy has opted to publicly denounce the Patriotic Front Government accusing it of not delivering to its campaign promises a move that has received huge criticism from the President himself, civil society chief executives, the church mother body, government and senior PF officials.
