—-The Solwezi Municipal Council has identified potential sites for the construction of provincial broadcasting studios in the district.

Solwezi Town Clerk, Ronald Daka, disclosed this in Solwezi today when Provincial Broadcasting Committee Vice-Chairperson, Edward Mwanza and his delegation visited him to follow up a request for land space to put up the broadcasting studios.

Mr Daka said technocrats from the committee could view and study the identified potential sites and select one that will be suitable for the project.

Meanwhile, North-Western province Permanent Secretary, Augustine Seyuba, said the province is committed to host the provincial broadcasting studios because the project will not only provide a channel for information dissemination but also opportunities for employment.

Mr Seyuba said this when Provincial Broadcasting Committee Vice Chairperson, Edward Mwanza and his delegation paid a courtesy call on him.

He said when the project is completed, it will assist to reflect many developmental projects that are going on in the province and also highlight the rich cultural activities the province is endowed with.

Speaking earlier, Mr Mwanza said once land is secured, the committee will sit down and quicken the planning of the project so that work could commence as soon as possible.

Government wants to put up provincial broadcasting studios in all provinces and the launch was hosted by Solwezi in October last year.
