CSAWUZ happy with response of workers over collective agreement

–Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (CSAWUZ) president, Davy Chiyobe says, he is impressed with the response and understanding from civil servants on the 2013 collective agreement to be effected on September 1, this year.


Mr Chiyobe, who is on a tour of Muchinga Province to explain the contents of the 2013 collective agreement to his members, said this when he addressed civil servants in the Chinsali Manicipal Council Recreation Hall.


He said the union had observed that commitment among civil servants towards work was look warm due to inadequate motivation, hence the need to boast their morale.


Mr Chiyobe said it is for this reason that the public service union and the Government successfully concluded the negotiations and awarded public service workers the best package ever in many years which comes into effect on September 1, 2013.


The CSAWUZ president said the collective agreement include seven principles, among them, equal work-equal pay, harmonization, consolidation and the principal of life cycle coordination of service approach among others.


And Muchinga Province Assistant Secretary (AS), Chiwele Kondomone, has commended CSAWUZ for convincing Government to improvement conditions of service for public employees.


Mr Kandomone urged civil servants present at the meeting to utilize the presence of CSAWUZ president, Davy Chiyobe, to present issues affecting them as public workers.
