MISA Zambia signs contract with Radio Luapula

—–The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia Chapter has signed a mutual contract worth KR 11,900 with Radio Luapula in Nchelenge district of Luapula province.

Under the contract, Radio Luapula will be paid quarterly by MISA Zambia Chapter for broadcasting both social and economical programmes under the MISA-Zambia Good Governance programme.

Radio Luapula station Manager, Emmanuel Chibulu, disclosed this during the first quarter District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC) meeting which was held at the Nchelenge District Council chamber today.

Mr Chibulu said the contract runs up to December, 2013, with a possibility of an extension.

And Mr Chibulu has thanked the USAID for financial support to run the Communication Support for Health (CSH) programme.

Mr Chibulu said the USAID has this year alone committed KR 134, 000 to facilitate the broadcasting of the Communication Support for Health activities adding that the donor has already disbursed KR 82, 280 to his organization.

Meanwhile Mr Chibulu has appealing to Heads of Government Departments and Civil Society Organizations in Nchelenge to give his station advertising business and other related programmes in order to sustain its operations.

He observed that most Heads of Government Departments were not willing to release information, let alone support his institution through commercial programmes.
