 Citizens Budget launched in Chipata

 

Chipata, March 14, 2013, ZANIS…The Citizen budget targeting the ordinary Zambian in a clear and simpler manner and reflecting the essential element of the 2013 budget has been launched in Chipata.  

                      

The Citizens budget will help monitor how the resources allocated to various programmes and activities will be utilised.

                                                                                 

Eastern Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Zechariah Luhanga said many sections of society have for a long time been calling on government to simplify budget documentations in a manner that will make sure that they understand its key policies and objectives.      

                                                                                                                   

Mr Luhanga said the citizens budget is beneficial to the Zambian citizens in that people will be knowledgeable of what government is doing and not doing.

 

This he said will also hold government accountable for planned deliverables. 

     

The budget is therefore intended to enable the public, including those who are not familiar with the public finance to understand governments plans.
