Government urged to form an all inclusive development agenda

Nchelenge, March 9, ZANIS ———Scores of women in Nchelenge district of Luapula province yesterday joined other female folk internationally to commemorate the women’s day with a clarion call on government for an all inclusive development agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the other women, Nchelenge District Women Association (DWA) Chairperson Charlotte Munchelenge said government must ensure an all inclusive agenda to address gender imbalances.

Ms Munchelenge said government should put in place measures that would ensure equal political, social and economic participation for men and women.

She said the PF government must under pin aspects that would enhance women’s participation and involvement in development to ensure gender equality.

Ms Munchelenge also said women need better infrastructure such as maternal homes for expectant mothers and their families at health facilities to realise their dignity.

She asserted that the women in the district have taken an active role in creating developmental initiatives through women groups but observed that they lack office accommodation to enhance their activities.
