Acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda has disclosed that Zambia faces a lot of challenges on issues of land.

Justice Chibesakunda said these challenges therefore call for careful monitoring and distribution of the land resource in the country.

She said land was a valuable resource in the world and was closely linked to people’s needs hence any misdeeds can have a direct effect on citizens.

She was speaking in Lusaka yesterday when she swore in members to the lands tribunal.

Justice Chibesakunda has since called on the members of the tribunal to conduct their duties with honesty and integrity.

She said the tribunal members should work on land boundaries for chiefs, organisations and the general citizenry at large.

Of those sworn in were James Kalokoni, Senior Chief Inyambo Yeta, Bwalya Penza Chona, Dr. Patrick Nkhoma, Dr. Peter Nsombo, Meebo Nchimunya Changula, Frederick Siamulandabala Mudenda, Natasha Chiumya Machila, Andrew Nkunika, John Jumba and Audrey Mushobwe Mwanyungwi.
