—-Kamwala Ward Councillor, Joyce Banda, has appealed to residents in her area to release information to data collectors on the street naming exercise.

Mrs Banda said her office has received complaints from data collectors that residents in her ward have not been willing to give out the information that is needed for the naming of the roads in the area.

She told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that residents in her area are not willing to release the necessary information even after a sensitization programme was undertaken in the area.

Mrs Banda has since called on residents in her ward to expedite the exercise as they are the ones delaying the project.

And Lusaka City Council Public Relations Manager, Chanda Makanta, disclosed that the local authority is working with the Zambia Information, Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) in the pilot project of street naming.

Mrs Makanta called on residents where the project is on-going to corporate with the data collectors and giving the information they need.

She added that this project would help the residents so much when it is completed as it would be one way of identifying the area.
