Siavonga Fisherman in court for theft

A 24 year old fisherman of Siavonga District today appeared in the Siavonga Magistrate Court charged with theft.

 

Before Siavonga Magistrate Bathlomeo Kaongo was Simon Matape, a resident of Micho compound who stood charged with one count of burglary and theft contrary to Section 301 Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

 

Particulars of the offence alleged that on 21^st December, 2012 while in Micho Compound at night, Matape did steal 1 Mattress and 8 window frames all valued at KR 352, the properties of Osward Mwewa.

 

When asked whether he understood the charge, Matape said he did but denied the charge.

 

This was when the matter came up for plea in the Siavonga Magistrate Court today.

 

Magistrate Kaongo has since set 26^th February, 2013 for trail and the accused person is in custody at Siavonga Police Station.
