Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge has assured Cichetekelo Hospice staff in Ndola that government will ensure the facility stays open as government is in a hurry to improve health delivery services.

Mr Musenge said government will not sit back and allow an institution as important as the hospice to shut down due to lack of funds.

Mr Musenge was speaking during a familiarisation tour of the hospice in Ndola’s Lubuto Township today.

“We are aware of the importance of the services provided at this institution, therefore government will ensure that the hospice is not closed,” he said.

Mr Musenge added that closing the hospice will be a disadvantage to patients who rely on it for health care.

Meanwhile, Mr Musenge has congratulated all the members of staff at Cichetekelo hospice for a commendable job of maintaining the health institution for all the years it had been running.

Cichetekelo Hospice which was opened in September 1999 faces closure due to lack of funds to keep the facility running.
