———Government has disclosed that it will decentralize the administration of the Youth Empowerment Fund to Provincial level.

The move will ensure a more transparent and accountable implementation of the fund as well as make it promptly respond to the needs of the youth.

Senanga District Commissioner, Yumei Mihupulo made the disclosure today when he officiated at the Youth Day Celebration held at Senanga High School.

Mr Mihupulo said this year’s theme “Opportunity for Youth through Enterprise” is in line with the PF government’s aspiration to fully integrate youths in the socio-economic development of the country.

He believes that youths have a huge potential to contribute to the development process of the country if well nurtured.

The Senanaga District Commissioner said with this realization, government has in this year’s budget allocated more money for youth empowerment than it did last year.

Earlier youths in Senanga colourfully matched through the town center from Senanga Post Office to Senanga High School and were led by the Boys Brigade from the United Church of Zambia and Cadets.
