A Rwandan Refugee living in Zambia, Jean Ndereremungu, has observed that refugees in the country contribute greatly to the economic development of the nation.

Mr Ndereremungu says there are so many products manufactured by refugees that help in the growth of the economy for the benefit of not only refugees but also the citizens of Zambia.

He said this today at Manda Hill during the exhibition of various products and goods made by refugees in commemoration of the World Refugees Day which falls on June 20, every year.

Mr Ndereremungu said refugees doing business in Zambia also employ Zambians thereby creating many jobs for the indigenous people.

He stated that refugees in Zambia are happy with the hospitality being rendered to them by the Zambian government and its people.

He further hailed the United Nations Commission for Refugees (UNCR) for the assistance rendered to refugees across the country.
