K1.2bn queries at ZICTA, RTSA shock accounts committee

THE Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is shocked by glaring queries in the Auditor General’s report with over K1.2 billion involving Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) and Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA).
PAC chairperson Howard Kunda said there were 15 audit queries worth over K1.2 billion in 2017 alone.

Mr Kunda told Permanent secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communication Misheck Lungu that there are serious lapses at the two institutions, which are under his watch.
“I have a schedule of how you have performed from 2015 to 2017. It is shocking. In 2015, there were nine queries involving over K277 million.

“In 2016, 19 queries involving over K554 million, and now in 2017, there are 15 queries worth over K1.2 billion. Clearly, there is a big problem with issues to do with finances. There are serious lapses
