Hon. DANIEL MUNKOMBWE HAS DIED

PATRIOTIC FRONT MOURNS FORMER SOUTHERN PROVINCE MINISTER DANIEL MUNKOMBWE

Lusaka, Zambia, 15th June 2018 – The Central Committee and general membership of the ruling Patriotic Front has learnt with great shock about the untimely passing of death of our beloved freedom fighter and former Southern Province Minister Hon Daniel Munkombwe.

“Hon Munkombwe meant different things to different people and sometimes in a very controversial mode but what cannot be taken away from him is the special place in the life of our nation in pre and post independence Zambia.

Hon Mwila has bemoaned what appears the era of those stalwarts who fought for Zambia’s liberation from colonialism.

” Those of us who are left behind must endure the pain of seeing the generation of our freedom fighters leave us one by one. Their enduring spirit and unity of purpose won us this freedom and may we learn from them in order to do good and better for mother Zambia in our time”, he said.

“Hon Munkombwe spoke his mind irrespective who agreed with agreed with him or not. He was unique in his own way. May His Soul rest in God’s Peace.” said the Secretary General.
