Luo to accelerate technological skills development

Minister of Higher Education Nkandu Luo says Zambia must come up with a position whether to accept importation of second hand technological innovations such as computers or not.

Professor Luo says this is because technological waste is difficult to dispose off.

Speaking to ZNBC news in Geneva – Switzerland at the Zambian Embassy, the minister said she will be consulting her counterpart at Local government Vincent Mwale on disposal of waste generated from computers and other innovations.

Professor Luo said this following a meeting she attended on the Commission on Science Technology and Innovation.

And Professor Luo says time has come for Zambia to value research and use it in decision making.

She says her ministry will put in place programmes to accelerate skills development for Zambia to match with the rest of the world in technological advancement.
