Opposition National Democratic Congress, Consultant, Mr. Chishimba KAMBWILI, has joined other citizens who say that President Edgar LUNGU is a Zambian and that those doubting his nationality are just politicking to the gallery.

The Roan Constituency Member of Parliament was speaking at the NDC Party Secretariat today where he discussed a number of issues among them calling on President Edgar LUNGU to review salaries for civil servants.

Mr. KAMBWILI, has however, demanded for the release of New Labour Party Leader, Fresher SIWALE, who has been detained for more seven days on allegations that he defamed president LUNGU when he questioned his nationality.

The former Minister of Information has stated the law on defaming the President is an archaic legislation that must be scrapped off in the constitution because it is being used to silence critics of the sitting Head of State.

Mr. Siwale is currently detained at New Chelstone Police Station, where he has been since his arrest on Tuesday last week following the publication of a National Registration card purported to be that of President Lungu.

  1. 1. IS IT THE PRESIDENT WHO SHOULD REVISE THE SALARIES OF CIVIL SERVANTS OR THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE PARLIAMENT?
    2. WHY DOESN’T THE PARLIAMENT REPEAL THE ARCHAIC LAWS EG. THE LAW OF DEFAMING THE PRESIDENT?
