Gwembe road accident leaves 4 people dead

4 people died while six injured on road accident in Gwembe

Four people have been killed and six others injured in a traffic accident along the Gwembe-Munyumbe road, 10km east of Gwembe District.

The accident occurred at around 1800 on 11th April. It happened when Steven Chanda of Monze failed to negotiate a curve due to excessive speed and in the process his Mitsubushi Canter went into a ditch.

Esther Katongo from Zambia Police told Radio Chikuni that two female adults and two female juveniles had been killed.

The bodies of the deceased persons are lying in Gwembe District Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

The driver has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
