Chief Chipalo of the Bemba people of Luwingu district in Northern Province has died.
Luwingu District Commissioner Patrick Chanda has disclosed to ZANIS in Luwingu district.

He said this is barely a year when the same chiefdom lost the chief and was replaced by chief Tungati after which he was promoted to main chief Chipalo.

Mr. Chanda said chief Chipalo died from the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka over the weekend where he was taken for treatment.

He says the body of the late chief will be transported to Kasama and later taken to paramount chief Chitimukulu’s palace.

Meanwhile, The Queen Mother of the Aushi people of Luapula Province, Racheal Angata Chama Mwewa, has been put to rest in Mansa District – Luapula Province

The funeral for Mrs. Mwewa, was held in Kasanga Village in Chief Mabumba’s Area.

Chief Mabumba and District Commissioner James Nyenjele, thanked the mourners for giving the Queen Mother a dignified send-off.
