Former Chikankata District Commissioner Sylvester Simayaba says it is worrying that the PF is not growing and has remained in Southern Province.

Mr. Simayaba has revealed that he was among the first Tongas in Southern Province to campaign for the late President Michael Sata, and since then the party has remained stagnate in the region.
Mr. Simayaba who is also Mazabuka District PF Chairperson says PF in Southern is like a malnourished baby.

He suggested that if the PF is to grow in the region there is need to rebrand it by appointing indigenous people to hold a high position at district and Provincial levels.

Mr. Simayaba states that Tongas are not willing to join the PF in the region because it has shown as top positions have only been given to people who do not hail from the province.

He says there is a need for the party to appoint indigenous people to attract local people.

Mr. Simayaba says he is not happy to note that the party he helped so much to form the government has maintained the same numbers for a long time in the Province.

  1. I think that advice is wise, people will be motivated if they see their own leading them , the people of southern province are very reserved when they dont see one belonging to them , yet some one else in leadership they feel colonised and withdraw to themselves.
This is a fact involve the local People especially those who are very sensitive to victimization, this is a valide advice to think about .
