Some Lusaka residents have complained of alleged military brutality in compelling people to participate in the on-going clean up exercise aimed at curbing the spread of cholera in the city.

The residents who spoke to Phoenix News say they are being forced to clean the city by military personnel without being provided with protective clothing such gloves.

They have charged that the military is forcing anyone passing near places being cleaned to join in the exercise regardless of where the person is heading to.
