Police deputy spokesperson Rae Hamoonga confirmed this in a statement yesterday.

“We have detained Elizabeth Banda, aged 23 years, after we received a report from her mother, Mary Phiri, house 260/16 George Compound to the effect that she had slept on her three-month-old baby boy, who later died,” Mr Hamoonga said.
He said the incident happened between 22:00 hours on Sunday and 06:00 hours yesterday.
