POLICE in Lusaka have recorded a warn-and-caution statement from Kabwata independent parliamentary candidate Clement Tembo for allegedly firing gunshots in public.

Police assistant public relations officer Esther Katongo said Mr Tembo appeared at Kabwata Police Station yesterday where the statement was recorded from him.
Ms Katongo said in an interview yesterday that police have instituted investigations into the matter to establish what happened.

“Depending on our investigations, we shall charge Mr Tembo accordingly,” she said.
Ms Katongo said police received formal complaints from Patriotic Front (PF) members over Mr Tembo’s alleged firing of a gun on Tuesday morning outside St Patrick’s Girls’ Primary School while PF candidate Given Lubinda was filing in his nominations.
