The Registrar of Societies has formally recognised the Felix Mutati led MMD leadership following the convention held in Kabwe last weekend.

MMD National Secretary Raphael Nakachinda has told a media briefing held at the party secretariat yesterday that the ushering in of new party office bearers means that anyone masquerading as MMD leader will be committing a crime.

Mr. Nakachinda who unveiled the receipts to journalists on the change of party office bearers obtained from the Registrar of Societies says the new party leadership is resolved to revive the MMD.

But ousted MMD president Nevers Mumba has dismissed as inconsequential the recognition of the new party leadership by the Registrar of Societies.

Dr. Mumba has told QFM in a telephone interview that the Registrar of Societies is not a court to recognize the Felix Mutati led faction.

Dr. Mumba states that it is in fact an act of contempt of Court to make such a recognition before the Court determines the matter before it.

He adds that it is also illegal for anyone to temper with the MMD records at the Registrar of Society without express authority from the legitimate party leadership.

Dr. Mumba says they have since notified all party members across the Country to disregard the recognition of Mr. Mutati as the new party president.
