DAILY MAIL WRITES:

Earlier today, we erroneously posted an old story to the effect that four miners were feared dead at Mopani Copper Mines South Orebody Shaft in Kitwe after being trapped underground. The story is from July 2015 and was posted by mistake,
as Mopani has not experienced any fatal accident in recent months. We, therefore, retract the said story and unreservedly apologise to Mopani Copper Mines Plc and the families of the deceased for the inconvenience and anguish the story may have caused.

ORIGINAL POST:

FOUR miners are feared dead in a mine accident at Mopani Copper Mines (MCM)’s South Orebody Shaft in Kitwe after being trapped underground.
The miners, who are yet to be retrieved, met their fate on Sunday night when a rock fell on them.

Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa and Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) acting general secretary George Mumba confirmed the incident in separate interviews yesterday.
