Kitwe woman gang raped by six men

 

A 38 year old woman of Kamatipa Compound in Kitwe was on Saturday night gang raped by six men around 23:00hours.

Copperbelt Police Chief Charity Katanga says the woman who is a house wife was coming from the market where she had gone to collect money from someone who owed her when she met her fate.

Ms. Katanga said the six men took turns in raping her and police have since arrested a 20 year old male who is believed to have been among the suspects.

She has told ZNBC News in a telephone interview in Kitwe that the named woman sustained injuries on her private parts and is currently admitted to Kitwe Central Hospital.

Meanwhile a 26 year old woman of Luanshya’s Miputu farming area was also raped on Saturday night around 20:00hours.

Ms. Katanga said the victim who is five months pregnant was following her husband who had gone in the bush to collect some Charcoal.

She said a man identified an identified is alleged to have raped the woman.

The victim is currently admitted to Roan General Hospital in Luanshya.
