In the main event of the evening dedicated to the Second Women’s World Convention of the World Boxing Council (WBC), which occurred on Saturday night at the Convention Center of Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico, the Zambian Catherine Phiri won by technical decision after six rounds, the Mexican world champion, Yazmin Rivas, to win the world title WBC bantamweight female.

The fight from the first assault, was developed with high technology, refined and many boxing punches thrown. 

The champion tried to keep the media away, while accurate punches connected, but the challenger was swift and often overcame the exchange, each with kickbacks to the head. 

After four rounds, two judges were earning Phiri with 39-37 points and the third had Rivas winning 39-37.

The fifth assault was very exciting because you loved fighters stood in the center of the ring to a furious exchange, which thrilled the audience. 

The sixth term in an accidental headbutt, which resulted in a nasty cut on his right eyebrow of the Mexican champion. The fight was stopped and went to the scorecards, winning a technical decision Phiri of 57-57, 58-56 and 59-55.

Now, Phiri advances his record to 11-1 and 5 KOs and conquer his first world title of his young career. Rivas dropped to a 34-9 and 10 KOs.
