A 45-YEAR-OLD fisherman of Chavuma has been beaten to death by his colleagues after he allegedly refused to share K350 raised from the sale of fish, which they caught together.
North-Western Province commissioner Lackson Sakala said in an interview yesterday that the incident happened on Monday and he named the deceased as Musole Chikwala of Sefu village in Chief Ndungu’s area in Chavuma.
Mr Sakala said Chikwala invited two other colleagues to go fishing but after they agreed to sell their catch, he allegedly refused to share the money with his colleagues.
“The other two fishermen expected to be given a share of the money but he never shared anything with them, so arising from that they got into a very serious fight until he was beaten to death,” Mr Sakala said.
