Over five thousand permanent new jobs are expected to be created on the Copperbelt once the 832 million US dollars Chambeshi South East Ore body mine becomes fully operational in the year 2017.

The mine is currently being developed by Non Ferous China Africa Mine-NFCA..

NFCA Chief Executive Oofficer Wang Chunglai says the development of the SOB has advanced adding that over 500 direct jobs have been created during the construction stage.

Mr Wang said this in Chambeshi today when the company handed over 90 newly constructed houses to displaced farmers.

And Kalulushi Member of Parliament Rayford Mbulu commended NFCA for constructing the houses for the displaced farmers, adding that government supports such ventures aimed at uplifting the livelihood of local communities.
