Chieftainess Choongo of the Tonga speaking people in Monze says there is need to increase sensitisation on road safety to avoid road carnage in rural areas.

 

The traditional leader says the majority of people in rural areas have little knowledge on road safety especially with the construction of roads in rural areas.

 

Chieftainess Choongo was speaking during a meeting with officers from the Road Transport and Safety Agency RTSA at her palace in Monze.

 

And RTSA Public Relations Manager Mukela Mangolwa says the agency has engaged traditional leaders in the country to sensitise people on road safety

 

Mr Mangolwa says traditional leaders are key stakeholders when it comes to dissemination of information among people in their respective chiefdoms.
