Green party President Peter Sinkamba says it is unfair for government to direct that all bars and taverns be closed on the national day of prayer and fasting.
Mr. Sinkamba says prayer and fasting should not be a forcing matter but an individual’s personal decision.
He says Zambia is a country with different religions which should be respected and allowed to do their own things.

He stated that if anything, those that will be praying and fasting should have been praying for those that may be in bars and taverns and not asking them to stay away from such places.
Mr. Sinkamba adds that Christians know what should be done during prayer and fasting thus the need not to impose things on anyone.
