2 teens die in boat accident

TWO teenagers of Mikose village in Nsama district have drowned after a boat in which they were travelling capsized on Lake Mweru, Northern Province division criminal investigations officer Clipper Mweetwa has said.
Mr Mweetwa said in an interview yesterday that the accident happened on Sunday around 15:00 hours.
Mr Mweetwa said Griopa Chisha, 13, and John Chibaliwa, 15, were on their way to Nsama from Kaputa when the accident happened.
“The two pupils had gone to Kaputa for some activities but as they were returning, the boat on which they got capsized and they drowned,” Mr Mweetwa said.

The bodies have been retrieved and buried.
Meanwhile NKOMBO KACHEMBA reports that one person died on the spot while eight others sustained injuries after the vehicle in which they were travelling overturned on the Kitwe-Chingola road.
Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa said in an interview yesterday that the accident happened on Monday around 10:30 hours near Jan Japan Company Limited.
Ms Kasosa said the deceased only identified as Kamukwaba, 54, of house No. C297B, Chililabombwe, sustained head injuries and died on the spot.
She said the injured are admitted to Kitwe Central Hospital.
