FKF President Sam Nyamweya insists they have invested heavily on the team and challenges fans to turn out in large and support them on Sunday

Football Kenya Federation President Sam Nyamweya says Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Zambia is crucial in determining how far Harambee Stars will go.

Nyamweya revealed that is why the federation has invested heavily in ensuring that Kenya picks maximum points on offer. Speaking to Goal when he visited the team at Nyayo Stadium on Friday, Nyamweya said: “This is a very important match for Kenya because if we win, it will put us in a good place to be able to qualify for the 2017 finals.”

He added: “We have therefore invested heavily and brought home 16 foreign based players to ensure the team does not lack in anything.”

Nyamweya has also rallied fans to come out and cheer Harambee Stars. “We urge fans to turn up in large numbers and cheer the team. The players always need that home support to triumph.”
