Youth and Sports Minister Vincent Mwale says government’s pronouncement to create 500 thousand jobs is not for political expedience due to impending general elections.
Mr. Mwale says the plan to create the 500 thousand jobs has been developed over the last three years.
He was speaking in Lusaka today during the launch of Entrepreneurs Association of Zambia and the Students Entrepreneurs Association.
Mr. Mwale also revealed that the youth development fund has so far helped over 2-thousand young people.
He says government has earmarked to scale up the fund to bring on board more beneficiaries.
At the same function, Cavendish University Zambia Lecturer Dr Peter Knyingi who is an expert in trade and entrepreneurship urged government to include in the seventh national development plan the value chain business model.
Dr. Knyingi said that the value chain business model is critical to a successful production process.
