United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema has charged that President Edgar Lungu is the chief instigator of the wrongs that are happening in the country.
Addressing a press conference in Lusaka this morning, Mr. Hichilema says the country has continued to witness high levels of intimidation, violence against citizens, opposition political parties, the church and Zambians in general from the time the PF came into power.
Mr. Hichilema has further accused President Lungu of abusing his office by directing police officers to arrest political leaders based on rumours.
He states that President Lungu cannot stop the political violence because he is a beneficiary of the violence.
Mr. Hichilema has since called on opposition political parties to work together to save the people of Zambia, stressing that nothing should keep them apart.
He notes that there many things that unite them as opposition political parties than those that divide them thus the need to work together for the good of the country.
Mr. Hichilema has also encouraged the church and civil society organizations not to relent in rendering their services to the people by continuing to speak out.
