Government says issues affecting the media industry in Zambia will not be resolved by antagonism and intimidation.

Copperbelt Minister Mwenya Musenge Says President Edgar Lungu is a listening leader who is aware and concerned about the issues affecting the media in Zambia.

Mr. Musenge says there is need for dialogue between Government and the media to find a lasting solution to challenges facing the industry in Zambia.

He was speaking at Mufulira’s Chatulinga cemetery yesterday during the burial of ZNBC Kitwe Studios Senior Reporter Queen Chungu Malama , who passed away on Friday last week.

Mr. Musenge described the late Queen as a hard working and humble journalist who was concerned with the plight of media practioners in Zambia.

And ZNBC Northern Regional Director Rueben Kajokoto says Queen had a unique way of telling stories which captured the hearts of millions of Zambians who watch ZNBC News.

Meanwhile Family representative Ernest Kalaba described Queen as a committed hard working woman who aspired higher in life through education.

Mr. Kalaba called on the family to celebrate her life and good works because of the kindness and love she gave.

Earlier Kitwe Media Circle Representative Maya Ntanda and her Livingstone counterpart Kelvin Mudenda says Queen was a role model who will be missed because of her dedication to duty.

The burial was attended by Kitwe District Commissioner Chanda Kabwe, ZNBC Director General Richard Mwanza, Director News Kenneth Maduma and other senior government Officials and hundreds of people from all walks of life.
