PF Deputy Secretary General Mumbi Phiri has dismissed assertions that President Edgar Lungu is discriminating against the Bemba speaking people in preference for those from the Eastern Province.

Mrs. Mumbi says the allegations are false because the Bembas were the majority both in cabinet and in the party.

And PF member Fr Frank Bwalya says the opposition were perpetrating the discussion of tribalism in Luapula because they had no message for the electorate.

And Chipili Mp Davies Mwila says tribalism has no place in Zambian politics.

The three who were in the Vice president entourage in Bangweulu were speaking during a rally to drum up support for PF candidate Anthony Kasandwe.

And Vice President Inonge Wina urged the electorate to treat the by election as a replacement exercise because the one that previously held the position was PF.

Meanwhile, the MMD has praised President Edgar Lungu’s administration for apologizing to the Tonga people over remarks attributed to PF Secretary General Davies Chama against the people of Southern Province.

MMD national secretary Bomwan Lusambo says the gesture from PF is a wise move.

Vice President Inonge Wina on Friday apologized in parliament over alleged remarks made by the PF secretary general.

Mr Lusambo has since called on Tongas to accept the apology rendered to them.

He said the development is in the interest of national unity and progress.

Mr. Lusambo was speaking to ZNBC News in a walk in interview in Lusaka .

Meanwhile, Seven PF members from Luanshya District have survived a road traffic accident with serious injuries while on their way to Samfya District to campaign ahead of next week’s Bangweulu parliamentary by-election.

This was after their Toyota Hiace minibus registration number AJC 8851 collided head on with a Toyota Mark Two registration number ACV 2869 last night along the Mansa-Samfya road.

Luapula Province Police Commissioner Hudson Namachila has told ZNBC News in Mansa that the accident happened when the PF branded minibus was trying to avoid a cyclist and ended up hitting into the Toyota Mark Two which was coming from Samfya.

Mr. Namachila disclosed that all the eight people in the two vehicles suffered serious injuries and are admitted to Mansa General Hospital.

And a check by a ZNBC Crew at the accident scene this morning at Yasakwa village in Mansa revealed that both vehicles had their front parts extensively damaged.

Some eyewitnesses talked to blamed the cyclist saying he had come from Mabumba area where he was drinking beer with friends and he fell on the tarmac just before the two vehicles collided.
