Man stabs friend on the neck, jailed 1year

A 32-YEAR-OLD man of Libuyu township in Livingstone has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment with hard labour for stabbing another man in the neck.

 

Before magistrate Chinkashi Chilingala was Danny Siamusa of house number A1, Libuyu township.
Siamusa, on May 24 this year, in Livingstone, unlawfully wounded Moses Sizandani.

 

Mr Sizandani told the court that on the fateful day, he was drinking beer with his friends at a nearby bar.
Around 22:00 hours, his girlfriend took his bicycle and went away with it without his permission.

 

Mr Sizandani recalled that he followed her and met Siamusa with his bicycle on the way.
He testified that Siamusa flung the bicycle on the ground when he saw him.

 

He told the court that Siamusa screamed a tirade of profanities at him and produced a knife.
Mr Sizandani testified that Siamusa charged at him with the knife in his hand, stabbed him in the neck and ran away.
In mitigation, Siamusa told court to have mercy on him.
Passing the sentence, magistrate Chilingala sentenced Siamusa to one-year imprisonment with hard labour.
