Controversial artist, Pilato has been granted bail by a Lusaka Magistrate following his arrest yesterday.

Pilato was granted a cash bail of K1000 with two working sureties.

He was first summoned last Friday after some members of the public complained to the police that his song, allegedly targeted at President Lungu, brought the name of the Head of State into disrepute.

Lusaka Province police commissioner, Charity Katanga said in an interview that Pilato  had been charged with one count of conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

“We have detained Chama Fumba, popularly known as Pilato, for conduct likely to cause breach of peace,” she said.

Matter to come up for trial on 24th June.
