THE Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) has arrested four people for alleged possession of assorted game meat.
This is according to a statement issued yesterday by ZAWA public relations officer Sakabilo Kalembwe.
Mr Kalembwe said Peter Phiri, 24, was arrested in Luangwa for alleged possession of seasoned bushbuck and warthog meat with a combined weight of 30 kilogrammes.
And in Lusaka’s Chimusanya area on Great East Road, ZAWA has apprehended three people for alleged illegal possessing various types of game meat.
Mr Kalembwe said Esther Chipili was caught with 10 kilogrammes of kudu, while Rodrick Kasembele and Selina Zulu were found with 17.9 kilogrammes and 25 kilogrammes of warthog, bushbuck and bush pig.
The suspects will appear in court soon.
Mr Kalembwe warned that ZAWA will stick to its mandate of wildlife law enforcement and cautioned people against poaching.

  1. They should leave those people alone,why alow people to hunt big cats for trophies but not alow those hunting for food
