PF Vice-Chairperson for Media and Publicity Sunday Chanda says United Party for National Development (UPND) Vice-President Richard Kapita resignation from the opposition party is an indictment of a failed leadership style of party President Hakainde Hichilema.

Mr. Chanda says Kapita’s decision to join the PF party is a clear demonstration of President Edgar Lungu’s transformational leadership.

He is reported by the social media today to have said that the UPND Vice-President’s resignation alone was an indictment on what he termed was the failed leadership style of party President Hichilema.

Chanda said the opposition political party will attempt to underplay the crumbling of its rank and file by minimizing Kapita’s resignation.

“This resignation alone is an indictment on the self-centred, mediocre and failed leadership style of one UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema. We know that out of desperation, the UPND will try to underplay the crumbling it is witnessing before it own eyes by minimising the Kapita resignation, ” read the statement in part from Mr. Chanda.

Mr. Kapita, one of the key party leaders in the UPND today ditched his party by joining the Patriotic Front at a rally held in Mwinilunga District where Kapita hails from.

He served as MP from the area from 2001 through to 2006 and remained one of the few members to have remained in the party from the days of founding party leader Anderson Mazoka.
