The Zambia Under-23 football team will meet Botswana as they begin their campaign for a place at the Senegal Under-23 African Championships.

This follows Botswana’s triumph over Kenya.

Botswana who won the first leg on home soil by three goals to nil went down to Kenya by four goals to one, but proceeded to the next round on the away goal rule.

The Zambia-Botswana match will also be used to determine who goes to the Rio Olympics next year.

Zambia will begin her campaign with an away fixture in Botswana on May 22, this year.

The return match will be played in Lusaka on May 29.

The Fighton Simukonda boys will need to beat Botswana and then Ivory Coast in the final round before earning a place at the Senegal finals.

The Under-23 team has been in camp for a week.
