Chief Government Spokesperson Chishimba Kambwili has accused Fourth Revolution Party president Erick Chanda of defaming President Edgar Lungu.

Mr. Kambwili says the statement attributed to Mr Chanda in Saturday’s Editorial of the post Newspaper are a clear case of defamation.

He wondered why Mr. Chanda is questioning President Lungu for advising State House aides.

Mr. Kambwili has explained that the Office of the President is an institution which deserves respect from all Zambians.

He told ZNBC news in Luanshya that the Police Service should not wait for instructions on what to do with people that are insulting the President.

Mr Chanda is reported as saying President Lungu should be the last person to advise his aides on clubbing.

Meanwhile, Government has strongly condemned the story in Saturday’s Post Newspaper suggesting that it has hidden 198 million United States dollars that it has secured from China.

Mr. Kambwili says security matters are not for public consumption.

He says government has always been transparent and that is why it has been holding media briefings every after each Cabinet Meeting .

He says even if government deliberated on the 198 million US dollar loan it would not have published the information because it is a matter of security.

Mr. Kambwili who is also Information and Broadcasting Minister told ZNBC news in Luanshya that government will revisit on the Information Bill before it goes a ahead to enact the information bill.

And Mr Kambwili has directed the Inspector General of Police to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that culprits that have leaked the information be brought to book.

He said government will be left with no option but to start regulating the media.
