THE EVANGELICAL FELLOWSHIP OF ZAMBIA (EFZ) SAYS THERE IS NO NEED TO DEFER THE ENACTMENT OF THE CONSTITUTION MAKING PROCESS UNTIL AFTER THE 2016 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

EFZ Executive Director Pukuta Mwanza said the concerns being raised by the traditional leaders can still be addressed without having to defer the process of enacting the new constitution.

Reverend Mwanza said the position of the church will remain the same on the enactment of a new constitution which will stand a taste of time.

Reverend Mwanza stressed that in as much as government has it reasons for delaying the process, the church will continue to stand firm and speak out for the voiceless on the need for a people driven constitution.

He said the church appreciates the concerns being raised by traditional leaders pertaining to land management under Article 279 of the laws of Zambia and feels that the issue can still be resolved without deferring the constitution making process.
